I felt so much drawn to these dialogues that I have decided to write a dedicated post on this. Which dialogue and why it hit at home, I will try my best to give the context as well.

Let’s jump into the main writing, shall we? ❤

‘People who have friends don’t call me.’ — This dialogue from Natasha’s supplier friend and just at that dialogue delivering moment and right after that, the background music. This statement is in itself heart-wrenching and the music added another layer of deep pain on top of it. I found it relatable and wonderfully expressed at the same time.

And the word ‘relentless’ describing her mother’s persistent nature.

Maverick’s supervisor telling him, ‘Your ego writing checks your body can’t cash!’

This dialogue is quite famous. I wasn’t aware of that. I have only recently seen both the movies. If the second one didn’t release, I would have missed watching the first one too!

It hit home really hard. Because of my ego’s writing not so monitored checks previously, my body and spirit both faced a crash too. I am still recovering from the crash. Each day being able to live feels like a blessing, worth of a lifetime.

Merida declaring at the archer’s contest, ‘I will be shooting for my own hand.’

This is me right now; to be more specific, it is my state of mind.

Before the ritual, Mei mei’s father talking to her, ‘People have all kinds of sides to them, Mei. And some sides are messy. The point isn’t to push the bad stuff away, it’s to make room for it, live with it.’

Mei-mei declaring about her ‘Red Panda’ just in the middle of the ritual scene that ‘I am keeping it’.

I also loved Mei mei and her mother’s conversation about dreams, going for them and how vulnerable and lonely it feels!

Mei mei asking Sun ye that ‘she won’t regret it, will she?’ and Sun ye smiling dearly, lovingly — the permission of having it, embracing it and regret is totally out of the equation!!

— Ghost in the Shell

I love the live action version more than the anime version. Which surprised me. Several words from this movie is gonna stay with me till I die.

Put me on the grid, being off the grid, the ghost aka the mind in the body!

And this dialogue, Motoko/Major saying to her mother during the last couple of minutes, ‘you don’t have to come here anymore’. And her mother’s reply, ‘I know.’ And then their hug. I have repeated this scene so many times; it’s such a beautiful scene. So simple two sentences and yet how powerful, emotionally beautiful they are!

‘Gods of Egypt’ movie poster

Hathor, the goddess of love declaring ‘I am the goddess of too much!’ That’s for me — A prime example of self-acceptance at its peak, not yielding to anybody’s remark at all. It couldn’t be anymore better than this. Also as a highly sensitive person, it makes a lot of sense to me. This dialogue speaks a volume on behalf of me.

‘Me before you’ movie poster

Clark first resisting scuba diving and then in the next scene she shouting excitedly and cheerfully, ‘why didn’t you make me do it earlier? That was amazing!’ And also Will’s reply, ‘I don’t know, Clark. Some people just won’t be told.’

I do have a side to my personality that is so similar to this dialogue. I will be doing something that I previously would hold myself back to do, resisting, and then after doing it, I am just like her. My expressions are like her. And also Will’s reply matches. ‘Some people just won’t be told’. I wish someone would tell me then I find myself resisting if someone does tell me which is really crazy. Even to me.

‘Know thyself’ is a long journey. And full of surprises too. And loaded with embarrassing moments.

. . . . .

I must mention these movies for their amazing background instrumentals -

. . . . .

All these movies, I have enjoyed watching them from the very beginning to the finish line. I was really longing to write this post including, mentioning these dialogues for quite a long time. Now I am finally publishing this post. It’s so peaceful now!

Lastly, thank you for reading. Not sure if you can relate to my experiences or not. I hope you have enjoyed reading. Feel free to watch the movies if you find these interesting, even re watch if you have already seen them ;) They are repeat watch worthy. I love to re watch them from time to time too. Still they feel like new, revealing some interesting point that I might have missed on the previous watches.

I will see you soon in another post. Till then, take care ❤
